Jumpstart Program For High School Juniors and Seniors
The Monroe College Jumpstart Program is an opportunity for high school juniors and seniors to earn college credits while still attending high school. Classes are offered on Saturday mornings at both the Bronx and New Rochelle Campuses. Students completing the Jumpstart program are eligible for freshman scholarships if they choose to attend Monroe.
Admission Requirements |
New applicants must have a GPA of 75 or above and will be required to take and pass both the English and Math components of the placement exam. You will also be asked to fill out an application and submit the following:
• Personal Statement (1-page typed) • Most Recent High School Transcript • Copies of Birth Certificate, Social Security Card, Immunization Record, Permanent Residency (if applicable). |
Registration Periods |
Jumpstart classes are offered in the Fall semester (high school seniors only) and Winter semester (high school juniors and seniors). Registration takes place in September for the Fall semester and January for the Winter semester. |
Earning College Credit |
Monroe College will grant three college credits for each class successfully completed. Each class is three and-a-half hours long per week and each semester lasts eleven weeks. Completion of course assignments, exams, and adherence to the attendance policy are required for college credits to be granted. Once credits have been awarded, students may request an official transcript. |
