Join NAMI-NYC Metro for an event commemoration Children's Mental Health Awareness Month!

How do we equip children with the inner strength they need to face the real tests and challenges of life? Preparing children for this requires more than teach academic subjects and test-taking skills. Children who learn self-awareness, confidence, how to manage disturbing emotions and impulses, empathy and cooperation as part of their school training are in better positions to meet life's challenges, both in and outside of school.

Join us for a discussion with Joan Bell, L.C.S.W. and Andrew Pearson, M.D., from the Mount Sinai Child and Adolescent Mental Health Clinic, as they discuss how these skills are being innovatively integrated into school curriculums, how parents can foster their development, and how therapists can teach these skills to improve functioning in children with social and emotional challenges.
